What started as "let's just replace the kitchen cabinets" snowballed into "let's just take out the shower stall and make room for the laundry" and "maybe we can extend the countertop this way....".

AND.....The hot plate tiles I of course found at Q’tiques ! :)

Ivy's Haven is not quite ready for public bookings but we had some friends stay this past weekend. They were the first to stay and it felt good to have a new, clean, and comfortable place to host friends. The To Do List is still fairly long but when I look at everything that is finished, I am grateful. And tired!!! :)

Okay one more post about this buffet… or technically, the candles on the buffet! I found all three holders at my fav store Q’tiques. The middle could double as a weapon as it’s cast iron. The other two are pewter and they were pretty scratched up but I really liked the middle detail. So I decided to scratch them up even more so they would look sort of the same. Now I think they look like brushed nickel and I love how they turned out!

Side note - I originally had the clock on the top shelf but HELLO look how cute the back is?!?

I’m starting to see the light at the end of this very long house remodel tunnel. Looking forward to friends staying and giving me the good the bad and the ugly critiques so I can make the necessary adjustments before this vacation rental gets listed. Exciting (and exhausting) times!

I like when I find solid wood furniture, in decent shape, for a steal of a price! Prepping this TV stand for paint so it fits the vibe of the living room. (trying to be better about before and after pics but I typically forget… 😬)
