Amazing ~ we enjoyed our 1st Balloon Glow/Hot Air Balloon Festival with colorful balloons against the stunning backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Awesome live music and food too! This will become an annual tradition for us each July!

Black Lantern Inn is proud to give back to help others. One of our guests introduced us to the amazing love, support and work at Horizon House based in Philadelphia. We donated a Getaway Weekend to the Inn with dinner and shopping ~ Register, browse and bid on over 100 items at their current fundraiser, an online auction.

It’s a Green Thing… Happy Earth Day!
We love the outdoors and are gratified to support sustainable tourism. The Black Lantern Inn is proud to be a Certified Green Tourism Partner in the State of Virginia. Chris and Jayne Andrews, the onsite Owners/Innkeepers, share that “they are dedicated to leaving the smallest footprint within their control and to leaving things better than they found them.” The Inn purchases organic food, practices composting, offers bath products that are all natural, sulfate and paraben free, comfy bamboo bed sheets, eco-friendly bath towels and energy efficient appliances and lights. In addition, the Inn’s gutter system is designed to feed their flower gardens and landscaping directly. Their off-street parking lot is crushed stone and patio is recycled fireplace bricks from the 1910 home.

The Inn is temporarily closed but we continue to try new recipes and catch up on basement projects.

We're excited about our new line of eco-friendly coffee mugs made from wheat stalks and soy based candles in unique scents (coffee, Appalachian Maple Bourbon and Mimosa Sunrise, etc.). These are available for purchase.
