Coffee, a little shopping, and something sweet—just minutes from the park.

This Where to Go Wednesday, take a leisurely stroll along historic Oak Street in Roanoke:

• Start at Mugs Café & Bakery for coffee and a croissant, scone, or muffin.
• Browse the boutiques inside The Market at Roanoke.
• Stop at Oak St. Pie Co. for a treat to bring back to your RV.

Plan a late-morning visit—Mugs opens at 10 a.m. Tuesday–Saturday, and the pie shop opens at 11.

What’s your favorite Oak Street stop? Tell your fellow campers!

Your RV needs a little room to breathe—and so does your fridge.

• Run your exhaust fans when cooking or showering to help move moisture outside.
• Leave a little space in cabinets so air can circulate, and wipe up condensation when you spot it.
• Give groceries some breathing room, too. Packing the fridge tightly blocks the airflow it needs to keep food cool.

A few small habits that make a difference when your RV is home.

Well, look who finally got the memo!

Texas is finally sending some cooler weather our way, and after all those hot days, we’re ready for it!

This weekend around Northlake, we’re looking at afternoon highs in the upper 60s to around 70, with mornings dipping into the 40s. Sounds like somebody finally remembered it’s October!

If you’re staying in your RV, don’t forget to secure your awning and anything outside that might catch the wind as the cool front moves through.

Now the important question…

Are you ready for sweater weather, or are you already missing those hot Texas summer days?

Where to Go Wednesday is taking us to Grapevine for something a little different this weekend!

The 29th Annual Butterfly Flutterby is happening Saturday, October 17, celebrating the monarch butterflies making their annual migration from Canada to Mexico, right through North Texas.

Bring the family, and even your pets, for a day of live butterfly releases, arts and crafts, butterfly photo opportunities, costume contests, and plenty of colorful garden scenery. There will also be snacks and butterfly merchandise available for purchase.

Here’s what you need to know before you go:

Location: Grapevine Botanical Gardens at Heritage Park, 411 Ball Street, Grapevine, TX

Date: Saturday, October 17, 2026

Time: 10 AM–2 PM

Admission: FREE!

Live Butterfly Releases: 11 AM, 11:45 AM, 12:30 PM, and 1:30 PM

Additional Activities: Mayoral Monarch Pledge at 10:45 AM, costume contests, crafts, and butterfly photo opportunities. Tie-dye T-shirts are available for a $2 activity fee.

All four butterfly releases take place right at the Botanical Gardens, so you won’t have to travel between locations.

It’s a fun way to spend a Saturday outdoors, learn a little about monarch migration, and enjoy one of Grapevine’s prettiest spots. And with free admission, it’s an easy outing to add to your weekend plans.

For more information, visit grapevinetexasusa.com and search Butterfly Flutterby.

Have you ever watched a live butterfly release, or would this be your first time?
