There’s a whole world waiting to be discovered at low tide.

Take a short drive from Surfside to nearby tidepooling spots like Barview Jetty, Short Sands Beach or Cape Meares, where you may find colorful sea stars, anemones, crabs and other marine life tucked among the rocks.

Check the tide chart before you go, explore gently and always keep an eye on the ocean.

Thousands of gray whales pass the Oregon Coast during their winter and spring migrations, typically from December into January and again from March through early June. But the sightings don’t stop there. Roughly 200 gray whales spend the summer feeding along the coast, meaning you can spot them hear almost year-round.
