There is a current phishing scam making the rounds that involves receiving an email that says files are ready to be shared with you.

It presents as a DropBox link and is usually from an email address or person you would know.

The Grand Lodge of Maine is not currently using DropBox and we do not share files with members this way.

From Scottish Rite in Lexington - America 250 Summer Series Announcement: Jim Dill announced a new America 250 summer series for Thursday Night at the Rite running from July 1st to August 31st, featuring seven American-themed degrees including George Washington, Ben Franklin, and other notable American patriots. The series will be available on demand through the Member Center, with a Netflix-style interface, and will be followed by Season 8 in 2027.

On Sunday, June 28th, Rockland Valley had the privilege of hosting two of the four Abbott Scholarship awardees.

After a pizza and strawberry shortcake lunch, Deputy Rep Elwood Doran had each recipient accept their checks after providing a short brief on their educational journey so far.

Recipient Lauren is attending University of Farmington to become a teacher and hopes to return somewhere in the midcoast area to teach upon graduating.

Recipient Steven is attending University of Orono and is studying Civil Engineering.

Two other recipients, Mia and Adrienne were unable to attend.

Alan Heath provided a little history to the gathering on Scottish Rite and the Scholarship program. Also attending were James Heath and Jeff Sukeforth from the Valley.

Congratulations to all recipients and good luck with your future education endeavors.

The Valley of Rockland, AASR is a Scottish Rite Valley under the Jurisdiction of
The Maine Council of Deliberation and
The Supreme Council, AASR, NMJ

The Valley consists of three bodies:
Rockland Lodge of Perfection (4°-14°)
Rockland Council of Princes of Jerusalem (15°-16°)
General Knox Chapter of Rose Croix (17°-18°)

The Valley of Rockland does not have a Consistory, with candidates either joining Maine Consistory in Portland or Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain Consistory in Bangor.

Historically, the Valley met in Rockland but it is Currently meeting in Rockport.

The Valley of Rockland currently has a Membership of 213 (as of June 24th, 2026:
8 Members who are Illustrious 33°, MSA
5 Members who are 32°, MSA
1 Member who is 32°, and elected to receive the MSA in 2027
1 Member who is 32°, HGA
198 Members who are 32°

201 Members of the Valley of Rockland are Members of Maine Consistory in Portland.
14 Members of the Valley of Rockland are Members of Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain Consistory in Bangor.

The Valley of Rockland is the Smallest of the five Scottish Rite Valleys in the State of Maine.

64 Members of the Valley are known to be Wor.

Most of the Valley of Rockland’s Members are Members of Lodges in the 8th, 9th, and 10th Districts of the Grand Lodge of Maine with every Lodge in these Three Districts being represented in our Membership.

The Rockland Valley will be awarding Scholarships to three students on June 28th at noon at the Rockport Masonic Center. Valley membership is encouraged to attend and support our youth.

Coffee and pastries are ready for attendees.

Registration opens at 9am and degrees begin at 10am. Digital degrees will be the 4th 9th 16th & 17th. A break for lunch and live 18th degree.

Lunch by donation having chicken teriyaki over rice.
