Wishing all of you a happy Easter weekend!

I also wanted to share a couple of photos of our excitement for the week. On Tuesday a wheel fell off a buggy right in our front yard. The couple was uninjured, and the gentleman was finally able to take control of the horse and then pull the buggy into our parking lot. Meanwhile, a neighboring Amish man pulled his buggy down the road so the couple could continue on their way, all within 15 minutes! Yesterday, a wagon, pulled by a forklift, came to pick up the damaged buggy!

I have certainly enjoyed all the snow we've received this winter, but those remaining few piles are rapidly melting away due to the bright sunshine and warmer temperatures we've had during the past week! Here at Countryside Motel we've been up and running for over a month. The governor recently lifted the out-of-state travel restrictions. Restaurants are open but still have limited seating, and indoor and outdoor events are now permitted on a limited basis. Some of Lancaster County's "mud sales" are happening while others have canceled. We are taking reservations for the reminder of 2021 and look forward to seeing you!

2020 has certainly not lived up to our expectations in many ways; it is one for the record books! All the same, we are alive and well and have many people and things for which to be thankful. We have seen many of you throughout the year and will hopefully see many others again next year. We are now closed for the season, and if all goes as planned, we will re-open on Friday, January 22.

During this Christmas season as we celebrate the birth of Jesus and count our blessings, we wish for each of you good health, peace and joy! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Today was a beautiful sunny day although quite breezy here in Lancaster County. The crops are being harvested, pumpkins are on the porches, and the weather has turned crisp and cool. We wanted to share with all of you what is happening in our backyard today. Enjoy!

We miss you all and hope you are doing well. We have cautiously re-opened a couple of rooms after being closed for a month. We are waiting to see what happens here in Pennsylvania. In the meantime, enjoy the photo of our bank of creeping phlox, and be careful!

We are open for business and are continuing to monitor the developments concerning the coronavirus. Cleanliness has always been a top priority for us here at Countryside. We will continue with that regimen and will attempt to be even more diligent wherever we can. We will also reinforce the CDC guidelines with our employees.

If you should have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. If you are feeling ill or have been in contact with people who are sick, please do not hesitate to call and cancel your reservation. We are hopeful that this situation is soon brought under control and are praying that all of you stay safe.

The 2020 season is upon us, and we are once again open for business. During the winter we installed new carpeting in the remaining 4 rooms. We also replaced the pink bathtub in room #11 with a walk-in shower and the old porcelain tile and tub surrounds in #4 with beautiful subway tile. Check us out when you reserve your tickets at Sight & Sound Theatres, only 1 mile away, to see their newest show, Queen Esther! Call us for reservations and take in one of Lancaster County's unique mud sales.

Come experience a Lancaster County Mud Sale - the term for an annual auction/sale at one of a number of local fire companies.
