If you wish to help our cabins directly we are offering gift certificates that can be used towards your next stay with us at Forest Home Cabins.
You can call in a purchase a gift certificate OR receive a gift certificate instead of a refund for a reservation that has been missed.

*please keep in mind gift certificates will not be created until we return to the office*

If you have missed or canceled a future reservation we will be in calling you once we are allowed to safely return to our property.

I believe I have responded to all emails and voicemails.

While we very much appreciate the calls and emails we’ve been receiving, here are a couple of things to keep in mind;

🔹We cannot answer every phone call.
🔹It will take me much longer to reply to your emails.
🔹You cannot get into the village so please do not try.
🔹We will be very lenient with our policies on upcoming reservations.
🔹It WILL take longer than usual to issue refunds/gift certificates.
🔹We know your favorite vacation spot is Ruidoso but this is our HOME please keep this in mind when your patience is low.

The Lincoln National Forest has increased the fire danger rating from “moderate” to “high” effective April 19, 2024. The measure is part of ongoing efforts to mitigate wildfire risk in the area.

This past week we had to stay goodbye to our Greenwood Tree cabin. 😔Though it was tough, we consider ourselves so very lucky that this was the only major damage to our business and our personal property wasn’t a victim to the horrible fires that devastated so many in our community. Thankfully this cabin was vacant at the time and no one was injured when the wind blew this tree down.

This means that we are building something new in the future‼️ We would love a little input on what our friends would like to see.
Would you prefer another cabin suite with a whirlpool bath bath tub like Robin Hood and Sherwood Castle 🛁
or do you think we need another cabin that would accommodate 4+ people?🏠

Just a reminder for our guest!

We've said this before...and we will say this again...ONLY LOUDER!

Please DO NOT feed or interact with Wild Horses! The Village of Ruidoso has an ordinance against feeding wildlife within Village Limits and the Wild Horses are considered Wildlife.

We have noticed a large amount of people around our Village (Mainly at Hull Rd near the Soccer Fields) feeding the horses and even children walking around them. These horses can be spooked at any moment and would trample bystanders! It is also very dangerous for the horses themselves to be congregating in these areas near roadways as they may run into traffic with those types of interactions.

Be Aware...Strict enforcement of this ordinance will be conducted by the Ruidoso Police Department!

This is the Ordinance:
Sec. 14-21. - Feeding of certain wildlife prohibited.
(a)[Feeding of certain wildlife prohibited.] "Feeding of certain wildlife prohibited" makes it unlawful to feed, provide feed or other attractants, excluding ornamental plants, vegetable gardens and properly hung feeders, to wildlife within the village limits and authorizes the village to enforce this section.
(b)Conduct declared unlawful. It is unlawful to feed, provide feed or other attractants, excluding ornamental plants, vegetable gardens and properly hung feeders, to wildlife within the village limits.(c)Exceptions. It is legal to feed birds, other than waterfowl, utilizing a bird feeder that can be accessed only by birds. Birdfeeders that are accessed by other animals other than birds or squirrels are in violation.
(d)Investigations and complaints. Upon receipt of a complaint alleging the illegal feeding of wildlife, the village may investigate the complaint to determine if there has been a violation of this ordinance.(e)Citations.
(1)The village shall order the responsible party providing feed or attractants to wildlife to stop the procedure immediately. A written warning will be issued for a first offense.
(2)A repeat offense will result in a citation being issued.
(f)Penalty—Fines.
(1)Each day an offense exists shall constitute a separate offense pursuant to this chapter. The village municipal court judge shall assess animal violation fines as set forth in this section.
(2)Any person who violates this article or fails to comply with any of its requirements shall upon conviction thereof be fined not more than $500.00 or imprisoned for not more than 90 days, or both, for each violation, and in addition shall pay all costs and expenses involved in the case. Nothing herein contained shall prevent the village from taking such other lawful action as is necessary to prevent or remedy any violation.
