Effective communications that build value for our food and ag clients.

Farmers Communications Exchange is a public relations and social media firm with a long history of working to help farmers tell their unique stories. At Farmers Communication Exchange, we believe in using all the tools available to us to share our clients’ stories. We build storytelling into your everyday communications because — by telling great stories about real people, places, families, traditions, struggles and celebrations — we can change the way people see your product and create bonds between you and your target audiences. Whether you’re trying to connect with consumers, media, regulators, retailers, restaurants or farmers, we create communications that deliver results.

POV: Just another day making content for California agriculture. 🍐

Behind the scenes of our final California Pears shoot of the season.

Last week, we wrapped up our final California Pears shoot of the season with the Elliot family of David J. Elliot & Son. 🍐

The content we captured will be turned into a library of assets over the winter, ready to go ahead of next season and used primarily for social media collaborations with retail partners.

We’re grateful for another season of getting to work alongside California pear growers and capturing the people behind the fruit.

And while pear season is winding down, there’s still time to enjoy a juicy, ripe California pear. Be sure to grab one over the next couple of weeks! 🍐

These are the faces worth protecting. 🤍

Today is , but at Farmers Communication Exchange, we have the honor of celebrating the people behind our food EVERY day.

Their stories deserve to be heard. Their work deserves to be understood. And their voices deserve to have a place in the conversation about the future of agriculture.
We’re proud to help share their stories, today and every day.

Happy National Farmers Day to the farmers who keep us fed!

There’s nothing greater than getting to share your food, farming, and family stories. 🤍

Highlighting agriculture is not something we take lightly. These are the families growing the food that feeds our nation, and we believe people need to understand what it takes to farm, why farmers do what they do, and the families behind the food on our tables.

Every farm has a story. Every family has a reason for doing what they do. And those stories are worth knowing, sharing, and standing behind.

Getting to work with California pear growers year after year is a privilege, and we’re grateful for every opportunity to capture the people and stories behind California pears.

Here’s a little behind the scenes of some recent work. 🍐

How do you get a younger generation excited about cantaloupe? 🍈

From securing Specialty Crop Block Grant funding to developing the campaign strategy, coordinating creative partners, and managing digital and social efforts, our team has been proud to help California Cantaloupes rethink how an agricultural commodity can connect with today’s consumers.

Recently, Farmers Communication Exchange President Marilyn Freeman joined Nick Papagni on the AgNet West podcast to talk about how California Cantaloupes is taking a fresh approach to reaching Gen Z and younger consumers.

🎧 Listen here: https://agnetwest.com/california-cantaloupes-social-media-gen-z/

The conversation dives into the strategy behind the campaign, including how we’re using social media, UGC creators, humor, and authentic stories from California cantaloupe growers and farm families to connect with a new generation of shoppers.

It’s a campaign that has brought together a lot of moving pieces, and a lot of Farmers Communication Exchange team members behind the scenes. Miranda Olagaray has helped lead the strategy and ex*****on, while Christina Nguyen has helped develop and generate UGC content designed specifically to resonate with younger audiences.

Although it isn’t harvest season, the work never stops.📢 🧑‍🌾

This winter we’ve been busy developing a campaign for our client, the California Pear Advisory Board (CPAB), highlighting the challenges local growers face due to the surge of Argentine pear imports.

Through CPAB’s social media channels, along with outreach to local and trade media, we were able to amplify this message while the board works with the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative to help protect California farmers.

The response to the campaign has been outstanding. Not only has it generated media coverage, but it has also opened conversations with Argentine importers who are willing to work collaboratively toward a solution so both industries can sell pears in harmony.

This campaign is a powerful reminder that social media gives organizations the ability to tell their own story and spark meaningful conversations that can lead to real change.

To see more from CPAB’s campaign, follow California Pears on Instagram, Facebook, and X.

Big news over here 👏🌾

This week, we proudly launched brand new social media channels on LinkedIn and X for our client, the California Agricultural Commissioners and Sealers Association (CACASA)!

And the timing couldn’t be better as we’re celebrating ✨ National Sealers of Weights and Measures Week ✨

Why does this matter? Our state's political leaders and communities deserve clear, accurate information about the critical work Ag Commissioners and Sealers do every single day to protect public health, enforce pesticide laws, and prevent consumer fraud.

Sealers of Weights and Measures are working behind the scenes to ensure fairness and accuracy in commercial transactions. From the gas you pump, to the groceries you weigh, their work helps ensure you get exactly what you pay for.

Join us in celebrating by:

✔️ Following CACASA on LinkedIn and X
✔️ Learning more about the role of Ag Commissioners and Sealers
✔️ Sharing their impact with your network

Because accurate measurement isn’t just policy, it’s public trust.
