But truth is, it was just what WE needed, too!

When a worn-out mama who spends her days taking care of everyone else gets away with her hubby, what a joy to finally spoil HER!

Two nights of delicious breakfasts, cozy beds, and absolutely nothing to do but stroll our adorable Saint Jo Square merchants, enjoy live music at Red River Station, sip vino at our nearby award winning wineries, and drive the beautiful backroads to our neighboring towns.

They came to refill their cups, but little did they know, they filled ours, too. This is why we’ve devoted our life to hospitality. ❤️ 🥂 🥘 👩‍🍳 🌺

This room has always felt especially meaningful to me. 🦊

In my early 20s, I read Henry David Thoreau’s Walden, and not long after, I visited Walden Pond by myself. That quiet experience stayed with me. Ever since, I’ve loved the idea of creating a space that feels peaceful, thoughtful, and a little set apart from the noise of everyday life. Of all the rooms our guests can choose, this one carries that spirit for me — cozy, woodsy, reflective, and full of calm.

I always wonder who will choose it next. We will soon see. 🧡 🦌 🌲 🍁🤎

These homemade Liège Belgian waffles are crisp and caramelized on the outside, soft and buttery inside, and loaded up with fresh strawberries, powdered sugar and all the good stuff. Add a little pecan smoked bacon on the side.

We had the sweetest couple stay with us, and nothing makes us happier than getting to slow down, spoil our guests a little, and send them off into their day VERY well fed. 😋 😋 😋

Our Frenchie Breakfast is a little bit Paris, a little bit Saint Jo, and a WHOLE LOT of High Cotton Cottage! 🥂 🍳 👑

Because around here, we believe vacation calories don’t count… especially when croissants are involved. 😉

Grandma Brenda, your kindness, grace, and unwavering support of Mason, Summer —and of us—mean more than words can say. Families like yours are the reason we opened High Cotton Cottage.
