The Wildset Hotel

We're counting down the days to one of the most joyful events of the year!

Holiday hospitality meets community generosity! Please join us in thanking The Wildset Hotel & Ruse Restaurant, a platinum sponsor of Christmas in St Michaels’ 40th anniversary celebration.

Their support helps bring our holiday traditions to life while supporting the local nonprofit organizations at the heart of our mission. Every sponsorship helps turn a festive weekend into lasting benefits for our community.

Thank you, The Wildset Hotel & Ruse, for helping make this milestone celebration shine!

"November is quiet and unassuming. And that makes it one of the best times to travel, especially if you can fit in a trip during the first half of the month (before the holiday rush begins)."

Come for a laid-back coastal retreat and the last of the leaves.

From quiet coastal escapes to mountain getaways with fall color, birding, and off-season charm, these small towns are especially appealing in November.

What to pack: a good book and a cozy sweater; Boots too, of course.

Things to enjoy: a warm bed and morning cups of coffee from under the sheets; Uncrowded streets and seats available at the bar.

Places to visit: the marina at sunset, the firepits at dusk.

Fall in Saint Michaels is bliss.

We are honored to be included, once again, in the 2026 Selection of the MICHELIN Guide.

These selections are decided on with the guest experience at the top of mind, including the service supplied by our whole team.

On top of this, properties that receive recognition are considered “cultural ambassadors” - spaces that align with their destination, that reflect a sense of local identity.

These are so many of the qualities we dreamed of incorporating into the design of The Wildset, and it’s not lost on us the honor of having others sense these efforts, both during the renovation process and through the every day experience we strive to offer our overnight guests.

A table filled with great friends,
Sparkling lights.
Cocktails to start as courses come out, one by one.
Enjoy them family-style, gathered round.
A sweet treat for dessert,
Then nightcaps by the fire.

A soft bed.

This is how holiday parties at The Wildset & Ruse are designed to feel.

"Maryland’s public oyster season opens October 1, meaning the local seafood at its absolute best coincides almost exactly with the most comfortable weather of the year to be outside eating it.

Layer on the fact that this is peak season for the Atlantic Flyway’s migratory waterfowl and you get a run of weeks, roughly early October through mid-November, where the Shore’s three biggest identities (working waterfront, wildlife refuge, small-town Americana) all peak at once." – Better Living

You heard it here first! Fall is the absolute best time of year to make an Eastern Shore trip.
