A traditional Greek Revival style mansion, stone cottages and log cabins provide serenity. Nestled among towering oaks, elms and persimmon trees, this traditional Greek Revival style mansion and complimentary cottages and log cabins are located on two acres of landscaped grounds surrounded by a picturesque white picket fence. Two beautifully restored log cabins, a summer kitchen cottage and a larg
er Greek Revival cottage complete the historical serenity. The main home, built in 1870 by Maj. Rose, has four bedrooms (three with fireplaces), a grand parlor, an elegant dining room and a cozy country kitchen. The Mansion is complimented with Rose family memorabilia and authentic antiques. A windmill with a cypress storage tank, a rock smoke house and an old wagon are nostalgic reminders of the past. Shaded seating areas, swings and hammocks located across the grounds compliment these accommodations. The Mansion was in Southern Living three times (June 1996 feature, February and November 1999) as well as being mentioned in June 2000 Texas Monthly and October 2000 D Magazine. Most recently, it was featured again in Southern Living (February 2005) and Ranch and Rural Living (January 2004).
