Red Barn Hideaway is a Bed and Breakfast located in Salado’s historic district, one block east of the historic Stagecoach Inn, and on the homestead property of the owners, Ron and Debbie Harrison. The red barn sits on a circle drive, along with the main house and two additional 1100 sq. THE RED BARN ROOM: This 16’ x 30’ upstairs room has stairs on the exterior back side of the barn. A deck overl
ooks a wet-weather creek, and guests enjoy sitting at the bistro set or bench and viewing the wildlife – we see deer almost daily. The furnishings are a mish-mash of styles, but blend together to make a very pleasing and comfortable space that seems to wrap “it’s arms” around you. The room can accommodate up to four people with a king-size bed, a built-in twin-size daybed and a pop-up twin-size trundle hidden beneath. The bathroom, with toilet and walk-in shower, is separated from the room with a door, and the sink, small refrigerator and microwave cabinet are in the main part of the room. Breakfast is placed in the small refrigerator beneath sink counter-top with instructions for microwaving, so guests can eat in their “jammies” and be on their own schedule. I set the interior table for breakfast, but guests may choose to eat on the deck, if weather permits. The room has a coffee pot and coffee, sweeteners, and creamers available (also, a blender, a hot pot, wine glasses, and a wine bottle opener). A hair dryer and curling iron are under the sink along with other grooming items. There is a TV with DISH satellite service, and wireless internet is available. Guests love the private and relaxing atmosphere. It is a non-smoking accommodation (smoking is allowed on the outside deck, only), and I do not accept any pets or children under the age of sixteen (unless it is an infant that is not walking yet). Breakfast includes orange juice, seasonal fruit, a main dish/casserole, and some kind of a sweet (coffee cake, muffins or scones). CABIN A: A gorgeous two-bedroom, one-bath cottage, and it will accommodate up to four people with a king-size bed in both bedrooms. The living room, dining room and kitchen are open concept and very roomy. It has a full, working kitchen, laundry room/closet and a sizeable pantry. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower. Although there is a TV/VCR/DVD player with lots of movies, there is no TV or satellite service. Other than that, the amenities are similar to the Red Barn Hideaway, although, I have a two-night minimum on this cottage when it is available for B&B. CABIN B: Is a beautiful two-bedroom, one-bath cottage, and it will accommodate up to five people with a king-size bed in one bedroom, two twin beds in the second bedroom, and a large sofa in the living room. This is a very comfortable space for four or more people.
