35 miles of Methodist Mountain singletrack, part of a full weekend of riding (the Salida76 gravel race hits Saturday, Banana Belt on Sunday), all wrapped up as a fundraiser for Salida Mountain Trails, the crew that builds and maintains the 70+ miles of trail this town is known for.

"We couldn't believe what we walked into!! This was TRULY amazing." 💛 - Susan, 5 stars all around.

She stayed in our Mt. Princeton cabin, loved the huge bedroom (the mattress made a big impression 😄), and made the short drive out to Royal Gorge for family fun. Quiet, romantic, great value- pretty much sums up what we're going for.

This is the Colorado Trail, just up the road from the chalets on CR 240 at the Mt. Shavano Trailhead, one of our favorite easy-access trails in the area, and a genuine gem this time of year.

Right now the aspens are still green, but in just a few short weeks, this entire stretch will be glowing gold. If you've never seen the Collegiate Peaks aspens turn, it's worth putting on the calendar; this trail is an easy way to catch it without needing a big trip.

This is one of those small, everyday perks of living here: world-class hiking minutes from home, with a front-row seat to fall color season before most people even think to plan for it.
