Remember those days and nights at McGimsey Scout Park, Mays Family Scout Ranch, or Bear Creek Scout Camp? The campfires, the laughter, the teamwork — and the pride that comes from watching Scouts grow in confidence, leadership, and character.
Those moments are what make Scouting unforgettable. And right now, the Alamo Area Council needs your help to ensure even more youth have the chance to experience them.
Today, we’re serving about 4,500 Scouts across our council. Not long ago, that number was closer to 10,000. Together, we have an opportunity to rebuild that level of impact so more families in our community can discover what Scouting truly offers.
Join us for the 2026 Friends of Scouting Breakfast
📅 Tuesday, January 13, 2026 @ 7:00 am
📍 McGimsey Scout Park Dining Hall
🥞 Complimentary breakfast provided
You’ll hear inspiring stories — including one from an Eagle Scout whose life was shaped by Scouting — and learn how we can strengthen Scouting’s future in our communities.
We’re reintroducing Friends of Scouting with a renewed focus. Rather than asking more of those who already give so much of their time and talent, our goal is to invite new people to learn about the mission, values, and impact of Scouting.
That’s where you come in.
