San Clemente CA, Did you know National Flag Day has roots in Elks tradition? 🇺🇸Long before June 14th became a federal holiday, the Elks were leading the charge to honor our nation's banner!
1907: The Elks pass a resolution designating June 14 as Flag Day.
1911: The Elks mandate patriotic ceremonies across ALL nationwide lodges.
1949: President Harry S. Truman (a proud Elks member!) officially signs National Flag Day into law.For over a century, our lodges have preserved this history through education, youth programs, and community flag retirements.Want to experience this unique tradition yourself? Had a great visit at the lodge with the mystery bus from Lake Elsinore/ Wildomar Elks Lodge. Elks supporting Elks. Thank you to our friends and bar tenders Dave & Jana, Hillary Secretary, PER Walley the cook, Norm Resnick member for prepping food for our visitors. Past PER Michael Martinez and Gennie Neidermayer for hosting our guest. It was a great visit. Special thank you to Trish our Chaplin for working on the beautiful murual on the patio.
