The sunrise sale on sanibel was a blast!!

With 49 Sanibel shops participating, there were fun sales, special events, delicious food and drinks, and lots of smiling faces all around the island. Pajamas were encouraged and we had a blast with special discounts, flag giveaways, a make-and-take beach bag charm table, and even a pop-up tattoo shop!

Sanibel’s sea turtle nesting season may be nearing its end, but our beaches are still full of life!

SCCF documented one new nest over the past week, along with plenty of hatch activity and nest inventories. This season, Sanibel’s nests have produced an incredible 24,867 hatchlings to the sea, including 511 green turtle hatchlings.

With 356 nests depredated by coyotes, the journey from nest to Gulf is not an easy one. We can all help give these tiny Islanders a better chance by keeping our beaches dark, clean, and free of obstacles after sunset.

Please turn off beachfront lights, take beach items home, and fill in holes before you leave.

Sea turtle nesting activities are conducted under SCCF Marine Turtle Permit #047.

The Sanibel keychain library has been restocked at 975 Rabbit Rd.!

There are new keychains, beach bling bracelets, seashell, candles, painted shells, and several Sanibel nail polish kits that are filled with treasures!

Stop by and remember to bring a keychain or a trinket to swap!
