🌿 Meet Vera, our community yoga teacher! 🩵
Vera moved to Santa Cruz at 13 and discovered yoga in high school. What started as something she was simply drawn to eventually became a passion and, more than four years ago, a teaching journey.
After earning her 200-hour hot yoga certification with a scholarship from Nicole Duke of Power Source Yoga in Aptos, Vera began teaching at the Santa Cruz Hostel after being discovered by our team on the Wharf. Since then, she’s taught everywhere from local schools and the Watsonville YMCA to corporate events, but says the hostel has been the ultimate place to grow as a teacher and build community.
For Vera, yoga doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be as simple as slowing down, feeling the breeze on your cheeks, touching the sand, smelling the ocean, or taking a long, deep breath. 🌊
Her classes are beginner-friendly with optional variations, and she especially loves when someone is willing to try yoga for the first time.
We’re so grateful Vera shares her passion, energy, and love of community with our guests and community members. Come practice with her at 10 am on Fridays at Main Beach, a short walk from the hostel! 🩷🧘♀️
