Some trips you take for the hunt. Some you take for the person standing next to you.

This father and son came out to the Sandhills to hunt a bison together. Big open sky, a good clean shot with the lever gun, and a bull on the ground by mid-morning. But watch the end of the video. That arm around the shoulder is the real trophy.

A bison hunt is one of the oldest traditions on the Great Plains. Getting to pass it down, father to son, on ground where these animals have always belonged, is something neither of them will forget.

Todd came down from North Dakota this week and had both. He took a heavy, full-curl ram with a mane down to his knees.

Congratulations, Todd. That’s a ram worth the drive.

Rams are one of the best-kept secrets at ReWild. The hunt is fun, the trophy looks great on the wall, and you can pair it with a bison or elk hunt on the same trip.

Look at that smile.

Some folks wait their whole lives to hunt a bison. [Hunter name] finally checked it off this fall, and he did it right. One good shot on a big, heavy bull under a clear Sandhills sky.

This is what we love most about what we do. It’s not just the animal. It’s watching someone live out a hunt they’ve been thinking about for years, then sending them home with the meat, the hide, the skull, and a story they’ll be telling for the rest of their lives.

Every September this bull goes to work on the trees.

He’s shredding brush and saplings to scrape the last velvet off his antlers and mark his ground before the rut. You can see it still hanging off his rack. We walked up close enough that another elk nearly stepped into the shot.

This is just an ordinary morning on the ranch. Bison, elk and rams all live out here on the Nebraska Sandhills, and it never gets old to watch.

The grass has gone gold, the mornings have a bite to them, and the herd is moving in tight.

This is bison season in the Nebraska Sandhills.

Steve spent the morning glassing the hills with Hector, picked out a mature bull, and waited for the right shot. One clean shot, and he was down. Then the real work started.

Nothing out here goes to waste. We butcher every animal in-house, right here on the ranch, and every hunter takes home the meat. That’s how it was done for a long time before us, and it’s how we do it now. Take only what the land can give, and honor every bit of it.

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of standing on the wide-open plains, holding a piece of history. A successful Midwestern buffalo hunt isn’t just about the harvest; it’s about honoring the traditions of those who came before us. This magnificent bull was taken with a classic high-wall r***e, making the moment even more unforgettable.

This aoudad came off the ranch under a big Nebraska sky, with heavy horns and that long mane hanging down. They're tough, sharp-eyed animals and a lot of fun to hunt. Congrats on a great ram!
