🍂 COOLER WEATHER, FALL FISHING & GOOD TIMES ON THE RIVER! 🍂

Good morning from Stegbone’s Fish Camp & Resort! ☀️

Fall is finally bringing some cooler mornings to the St. Johns River, and we’re looking forward to another great week of fishing! Whether you’re chasing bass, hunting specks, or just wetting a line off the dock, there’s always something to enjoy on the river!

🎣 LARGEMOUTH BASS — PROMISING OUTLOOK!

Bass should be one of the better targets this week! Look for fish around grass lines, docks, creek mouths, and submerged structure.

🐟 Recommended baits: Live shiners, soft-plastic worms, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits.

💡 Fishing Tip: Work the edges of vegetation and watch for baitfish activity. Cooler mornings can provide some good opportunities!

🐟 SPECKLED PERCH (CRAPPIE) — FALL SEASON IS APPROACHING!

It’s getting to be that time of year again! As water temperatures gradually cool, specks should become more active.

🎣 Recommended baits: Live minnows and small crappie jigs.

💡 Fishing Tip: Try deeper brush piles, channel edges, and submerged structure. Slow presentations may be the ticket!

🐟 BREAM & SHELLCRACKER

There’s still an opportunity to catch some nice panfish along the river!

🎣 Recommended baits: Red worms, wigglers, and crickets.

💡 Fishing Tip: Fish around docks, fallen trees, and protected shoreline vegetation.

🐱 CATFISH — STEADY OPPORTUNITIES!

Catfish are another good option for anglers looking to put a bend in the rod!

🎣 Recommended baits: Cut bait, nightcrawlers, and chicken liver.

💡 Fishing Tip: Focus on deeper holes, river bends, and channel edges. Bottom fishing during periods of moving water is worth trying.

🐟 STRIPED BASS & SUNSHINE BASS

As fall temperatures cool, keep an eye out for striped and sunshine bass around deeper channels, bridge pilings, and areas holding baitfish.

🎣 Recommended baits: Small shad, grass shrimp, and crankbaits.

🌤️ THIS WEEK’S WEATHER OUTLOOK

We’re looking at some beautiful fall temperatures!

☀️ Monday: Mostly sunny, high near 75°F. Breezy north winds.

☀️ Tuesday: Sunny, high near 76°F.

☀️ Wednesday–Friday: Plenty of sunshine, highs in the upper 70s, and cooler mornings in the 50s.

🌦️ Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms with windy conditions.

🎣 BEST WEATHER OPPORTUNITIES: Wednesday through Friday look especially promising for comfortable days on the water!

🌊 RIVER & TIDE CONDITIONS

The St. Johns River continues to experience tidal influences, and moving water can create feeding opportunities around creek mouths, points, and structure.

⚠️ IMPORTANT RIVER ADVISORY: The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for the St. Johns River Basin through 8 PM Tuesday, October 20. Minor flooding may affect low-lying roads, parks, and waterfront areas.

Please use extra caution around boat ramps, docks, and flooded shorelines.

⏰ BEST TIMES TO FISH

🌅 Early morning — sunrise through midmorning.

🌊 Moving tides — especially around creek mouths and current breaks.

🌇 Late afternoon — another good time to work shoreline structure.

🏆 THIS WEEK’S FISHING TIP

With cooler mornings arriving, don’t be afraid to slow down your presentation. If the fish aren’t chasing moving baits, switch to a soft plastic, live bait, or a small jig and give them something they can’t resist!

🏕️ COME ENJOY FALL ON THE ST. JOHNS RIVER!

There’s nothing better than spending a few days fishing, relaxing, and making memories with family and friends!

Whether you’re fishing from the boat, enjoying the dock, or relaxing at one of our cabins, we would love to have you visit!

📅 October 12–18, 2026

🍂 FALL FISHING IS HERE! 🍂

Good morning from Stegbone’s Fish Camp & Resort! Fall is settling in along the beautiful St. Johns River, and we’ve got some promising fishing opportunities ahead. Here’s what anglers should be targeting this week!

🎣 LARGEMOUTH BASS — GOOD OUTLOOK!
Bass are a top target this week! Look for fish around grass lines, docks, shell beds, and creek mouths. Try spinnerbaits, crankbaits, soft plastics, or live shiners. Keep an eye out for baitfish and shrimp activity along the river.

🐟 SPECKLED PERCH (CRAPPIE)
It’s getting closer to speck fishing season! As temperatures begin cooling, look for specks around deeper structure, brush piles, and creek channels. Live minnows and small jigs are your best bets.

🐟 BREAM & SHELLCRACKER
There’s still an opportunity to catch some nice panfish! Try fishing around docks, vegetation, and fallen trees with red worms, wigglers, or crickets.

🐱 CATFISH — GOOD OUTLOOK!
Catfish remain a dependable target. Fish the deeper holes, channel edges, and areas with moving water. Cut bait, nightcrawlers, and other natural baits are worth trying.

🌤️ WEEKLY WEATHER OUTLOOK
We’re expecting warm afternoons in the 80s early in the week, with cooler mornings and temperatures easing toward the weekend. Early mornings and late afternoons should offer comfortable fishing opportunities.

🌊 RIVER & TIDE CONDITIONS
Water levels have been elevated following recent rain and tidal influences. A coastal flood advisory is in effect for portions of the St. Johns River basin through 4 PM Monday, October 12. Use extra caution around docks, boat ramps, and flooded shorelines.

The afternoon high tide near Palatka is predicted around 5:20 PM Monday, 6:01 PM Tuesday, and 6:40 PM Wednesday. Moving water around these tidal changes may offer feeding opportunities.

⏰ BEST TIMES TO FISH
🌅 Early morning — sunrise through midmorning
🌇 Late afternoon — especially around moving tides
🎣 Focus on protected areas and current breaks while river levels remain elevated.
