We’re blessed with too many little babies to get everyone up to the country around Woodstock, so we’re staying put in Philly.

No bells or whistles on this super quick post. 29 birds showed up on the Merlin app between 630 and 8 AM this morning. Including a number that are apparently rare in my area, perhaps migrating through. Lilac House has no house sparrows!🐣🪶🐦‍⬛🪺Birders, IYKYK!

Do you have a happy place? OMG, how can you not have a happy place? This is mine. A calm, tranquil retreat, set back from the road, the air alive with birds and insects, the gardens a refuge for bumblebees and butterflies, morning coffee on the terrace, and an evening drink before the flickering fireplace, a long slow midnight soak in the hot tub, watching the Milky Way revolve above me.
