From October 21–23, 2026, the massive Round Top Fall Antique Show is in full swing. This window represents the prime mid-show sweet spot along the 11-mile corridor of Highway 237. During October 21–23, you will find roughly 40+ of the 48 total venues actively open with thousands of vendors.Visiting during these weekdays lets you explore major venues before the final weekend rush, though a few late-opening venues won't unlock their gates until right after this window

These churches are beautiful. Come see them. You can stay at our Haus.

Tucked in the rolling farmland of Fayette County, the Painted Churches of Schulenburg are one of Texas's most beautiful surprises. ⛪ From the outside they look like simple country chapels, but step inside and the walls and ceilings burst with color.

Czech and German settlers built these churches in the late 1800s, and craftsmen painted marbled columns, star-filled ceilings, and detailed stencil work by hand. 🎨 The sanctuary at High Hill, shown here, is one of the best known of the group.

The churches are a short drive from one another, which makes them an easy half-day loop through quiet back roads and small towns. 🚗 Check visiting hours before you go, since these are still active parish churches, and be respectful when you step inside.

We had so much fun with Lynn and Randy at Majek Vineyard & Winery to listen to a presentation from HeartBrand Beef about Certified Akaushi Beef. The sausage served is available at Kroger and the ribeye's were delicious.
