Some love stories begin long before the wedding day. 🤍

Skyy and Cole’s began when they were just sixteen years old, with a simple question at a high school dance: “Will you dance with me?”

Years later, that same love brought them to the coast of Maine for their very first visit, where they chose Captain Nickels Inn as the place to begin their next chapter together.

There is something so special about the moments before a wedding. The groom getting ready, the anticipation of seeing his bride, and a beautiful bride who simply takes your breath away.

Skyy was absolutely stunning, and the love these two share is even more beautiful.

For Tony and me, one of the greatest joys of opening our home to couples is getting to witness moments like these. A day filled with love, happy tears, and memories that will stay with them for a lifetime.

Skyy and Cole, thank you for allowing Captain Nickels Inn to be a small part of your beautiful love story. We wish you a lifetime of happiness together. 🤍

There’s something magical about fall mornings on Penobscot Bay. 🍁🍂

The view from our Captain’s Suite today is simply breathtaking. The sun is shining, the bay is a beautiful shade of blue, and the autumn colors are beginning to paint the shoreline.

These are the kind of days that make you want to slow down, step outside with a warm cup of coffee, and just take it all in.

Fall in Maine really is something special, and we can’t think of a better place to experience it than right here at Captain Nickels Inn. ❤️

Sometimes hospitality comes full circle. ❤️

During their stay, Luci helped a guest fill his black Owala and casually mentioned that she had never seen one like it before. That was it—or so we thought.

Then a package arrived at the inn addressed to Luci. Inside was her very own black Owala and the sweetest handwritten note thanking her for taking such good care of them during breakfast.

Luci was genuinely touched. She told us she’ll cherish her new Owala, and the handwritten card is going straight into her memory box.

What made me smile most is that we had no idea this little interaction had even happened. We simply know Luci as we always see her—easygoing, kind, pleasant, and someone we are so grateful to have as part of our Captain Nickels Inn family.

Sometimes the smallest moments of kindness are the ones people remember most.

And to our wonderful guests who took the time to do this—thank you. You made a young girl feel incredibly special, and that means more than you probably realize. ❤️

It never gets old. 🦅🤍

Every time we spot this beautiful bald eagle around Captain Nickels Inn, whatever we’re doing stops. One of us sees him and immediately calls out, “The eagle!”—and we both have to go look.

Today, he was right outside our front door, perched in the tree enjoying his lunch. We’ve seen him many times since moving here, and somehow it still feels just as incredible every single time.

There are certain things that simply stop you in your tracks and remind you to take in the moment. This is definitely one of ours.

🍂 Sometimes the best part of a Maine fall getaway is the drive.

From Captain Nickels Inn, some of our favorite places are reached by roads that are just as beautiful as the destination—winding along Penobscot Bay, through small coastal towns, past brilliant foliage, harbors, mountains and quintessential Maine scenery.

Spend the morning exploring Belfast. Take the scenic route to Camden. Make a day trip to Acadia. Then come back to Searsport, settle into an Adirondack chair overlooking the bay, and enjoy the quiet.
