I thought this would resonate with many within our communities. I spoke about the topic briefly as a guest on a show yesterday, and the inspiration ironically came from a picture Tim sent me of him and Deb from their wedding. I posted it on my FB page today, but here it is...
"As we age, things change. Our bodies change, our mindsets evolve, our priorities shift, and our perspectives grow. The people we are today may look a little different from the people we were yesterday, and that's part of the beauty of living.
But there are three things I believe continue to remind us of who we truly are: our eyes, our smiles, and our facial expressions.
Our eyes remind us to see, not just look. To look beyond the surface, beyond the assumptions, and beyond what we're conditioned to believe. There's a whole lot of life happening around us when we take the time to truly see it.
Our smiles remind us that there's always a reason to find joy, even when circumstances aren't ideal. Happiness isn't necessarily about having something to smile about; sometimes, it's about choosing to see what we already have.
And our facial expressions? They have a funny way of revealing the person behind the presentation. Before we say a word, they often tell a story that no title, label, or expectation ever could.
Maybe growing older isn't about trying to hold on to who we used to be. Maybe it's about becoming more comfortable with who we've always been beneath all the layers we've accumulated along the way.
Life will change you, but it doesn't have to change the essence of you. Keep your eyes open, your smile genuine, and your expressions authentic.
The world doesn't need another version of who you think you're supposed to be. It needs the real YOU."
Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed it,
