Some mornings are meant to be savored, not rushed. ☕🌿

A cozy balcony, your favorite cup of coffee, and the peaceful Sedona air. Sometimes, the best part of a getaway is doing absolutely nothing.

At Southwest Inn at Sedona, we believe slowing down is part of the experience. ✨

Most of Sedona stays green and red year-round — so where does the fall color hide? 🍂

Follow the water. Sedona's autumn foliage gathers in the tree-lined stretches along Oak Creek and up through Oak Creek Canyon, where maples, sycamores, and cottonwoods turn gold and red against the canyon walls.

The best Sedona days aren't the busiest ones. Here's a simple plan worth saving ➡️

☀️ Morning — choose one main outing. A scenic drive, or a trail that fits your ability. Go early and don't stack three more on top.
🎨 Afternoon — make space for art. Browse Tlaquepaque's galleries and courtyards, then take your time over lunch.
🌙 Evening — come back and unwind. Return to Southwest Inn and leave the rest of the night wide open.

5 Sedona secrets the trail map won’t tell you 🤫

1. Set your alarm for the light. Watching the first sunlight reach Cathedral Rock is worth an early start. Bring a warm layer and take a moment to enjoy it.

2. Give Tlaquepaque a slow morning. Wander the courtyards, browse the galleries and leave time for coffee. Every outing doesn’t need hiking boots.

3. Don’t rush your sunset stop. Arrive before sunset and watch the colors change. Airport Mesa is a popular choice, so expect company and check parking fees.

4. Leave room for the stars. Sedona’s dark skies give you a reason to slow down after sunset. On a clear night, put your phone away and spend a little time looking up.

5. Plan the unwinding, too. Back at Southwest Inn, trade your trail shoes for time in the sauna, a refreshing cold plunge or a quiet evening by the fireplace.

Did you know Sedona has seven natural pools carved right into its famous red sandstone? 🌿
Located along Soldier Pass Trail, the Seven Sacred Pools are natural rock basins formed by water erosion over time. After rainfall, they collect water, creating beautiful reflections of the surrounding red rocks and providing a valuable water source for local wildlife.
The interesting part? Their appearance changes with the seasons, so you might find them full of water or completely dry!

Two roads, two very different views. Swipe to pick yours ➡️

🔴 SR 179 — the Red Rock Scenic Byway. Big red rock landmarks like Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte, right off the road.
🌲 SR 89A north — up through Oak Creek Canyon. Forested slopes, towering canyon walls, and seasonal color along the creek.

Our tip: choose one for an unhurried outing instead of squeezing both into one afternoon. Traffic and stops change how long any drive takes, so give yourself room — and only pull over in designated parking areas.
