Located in Northwest Ilinois on 10 wooded acres with campfire pits, hot tub, whirlpool tubs and fireplace. Minutes from restaurants, wineries, breweries and quaint shops!

Mark your calendars for August 7-8, 2026. The Eta Eridanids Meteor Shower will light up the night sky, bringing 5-6 shooting stars per hour—slow, graceful, and often leaving long-lasting trails.

The Eta Eridanids are a minor meteor shower with a radiant near the constellation Eridanus, named after the river of the sky.

⏰ Best viewing: After midnight and into the pre-dawn hours
📍 Where to look: Look toward the southeastern horizon near the constellation Eridanus

For the best view, find a spot away from city lights, give your eyes 20–30 minutes to adjust, and enjoy!

From guests who traveled coast to coast for a corporate retreat to those who simply took a relaxing drive down our country roads to enjoy a family reunion, thank you for choosing Hickory Hideaway Cabins as the place to slow down reconnect and make lasting memories.
