Galvin's Park Campground is owned and operated by the City of Sheffield.

It features 10 campsites with 30amp electrical hook-ups, a rental SafeT Home (cabin), modern bathrooms, a shelter house, dump station, & swing set.

Sled Shed is stocked!
Today is a great day to get out and enjoy the snow. Galvin Park Sledding Hill is a great place to have some winter fun! Please be courteous and return the sleds to the Sled Shed stand when you are done using them. If you break a sled, please notify City Hall by phone or Facebook Message so we can replace it from our extras. Please remove the broken debris so we keep the hill safe for all to enjoy.

Galvin's Park will be closing for camping for the 2025 season on October 15th, 2025. Make sure to come back to camp next year when we open again April 1st, 2026 for camping!!

Don't forget to visit the sledding hill when the snow comes! We have sled shed with donated sleds and a tire path to help the walk back up the hill!

Reminder:
If you are not a camper at Galvin's Park, that using the dump station is $5.00. This can be paid using a pay envelope located at the campground or stopping at City Hall to pay. Thanks!

The City of Sheffield is hiring! Check out these three opportunities!
1. Swimming Pool Manager - Does not have to be a certified lifeguard, but must be 18 years or older.
2. Swimming Pool Lifeguards - Must be 15 years of age, a certified lifeguard prior to working.
3. Part-Time, Seasonal Parks Maintenance Worker - work will include, but is not limited to, cleaning campground bathrooms, emptying garbage's in parks, etc.
Applications and job descriptions, for each position, are available at City Hall or at www.sheffieldiowa.com. All applications are due by Friday, March 7th.

Our 2024 camping season will be here soon!
The City of Sheffield is hiring for Part-Time, Seasonal Parks Maintenance Worker - work will include, but is not limited to cleaning campground bathrooms, emptying garbage's in parks, etc.

This winter we were very fortunate to have a donation of a sled shed and sleds for the community to use. After our first big snow, it was noticed that the sleds were left at the bottom of the hill. Please respect this donation and put the sleds back into the sled shed when finished. As mentioned in an earlier post, if the sleds do break, please place them back into the sled shed and notify city hall to have them disposed and replaced.

With the snow ❄️... the sled shed is filled with sleds!! Please put them back for everyone to continue to use and enjoy.

If they break, please either dispose of them or set them in the rack and message city hall if possible so we can go out and dispose of them then replace them.

The Sled Shed was a 4-H project at the 2023 Franklin County Fair made by Cooper Moellers and Midwest Manure Management donated the sleds. THANK YOU!!
