People ask all the time why we are so strict about safety. I've heard things like "We didn't stake it down before and it was fine." Or "It doesn't need all those sand bags".

But the truth is just because nothing happened once doesn't mean nothing will happen.

The following incident happened yesterday. I see this every year. My heart goes out to these children and their families.

It happens here in Arkansas. I've seen local companies who are "certified" and don't follow best practices. A simple sandbag often isn't enough. Stakes that are damaged, not large enough, not driven into the ground fully, not used on every anchor point, not monitoring the weather, cheap Chinese units without all safety designs, Facebook renters who aren't licensed or insured for the state minimum of $1 Million per person per occurrence, these are all issues I've seen here in Sherwood.

This is why you need to make sure you can trust who you use to actually follow ALL safety protocols. Whether it's an event for 3 kids or 300, good enough isn't enough for Fun & Done.

🟠 SAFETY THURSDAY

Most people never notice the carabiners.

And honestly, that is okay.
Because they are not there to look impressive.

They are there to help keep kids safe.

To most people, a carabiner is just a metal clip.

To a trained inflatable operator, it is a load-bearing component in the anchoring system.

If the wrong carabiner is used, damaged, bent, cracked, excessively worn, or the gate does not close properly, it can no longer be trusted to do its job.

That is why we inspect ours:
βœ” When loading
βœ” During setup
βœ” During pickup

If we find damage, wear, cracks, warping, or deformation, it is immediately removed from service and recycled.

No exceptions.

One thing that makes our process different is that we use aircraft-grade aluminum 12kN-rated carabiners throughout our operation.

Even in places where a lower-rated clip could technically be used.

Why?

Because we never want the wrong hardware ending up in the wrong place.

The rating we chose exceeds the manufacturer's recommended load by more than FIVE times.

Not because we expect that load.

Because we believe safety margins matter.

When it comes to your kids, we don't look for the minimum.

We look for extra protection.

Most customers never notice these little details.

They just see kids laughing, jumping, and having fun.

And that is exactly how it should be.

The best safety systems are usually working quietly in the background.

Before today, had you ever thought about the hardware that keeps an inflatable anchored? πŸ‘‡

🟠 SAFETY THURSDAY

Anchoring an inflatable is not just about β€œholding it down.”

It is about controlling movement safely.

And most people never realize how much goes into that.

A properly secured inflatable is designed to have controlled movement during use. Too loose and the unit can shift, tip, or lift. Too tight and stress is transferred into the vinyl and anchor system in ways it was not designed for.

Professional anchoring is about balance.

At Fun & Done, we look for:
βœ” Every anchor point being used
βœ” Tethers running straight and evenly balanced
βœ” Opposing angles to keep force centered
βœ” Stakes driven fully into the ground correctly
βœ” Proper ballast weight when sandbags are required
βœ” Anchoring that does not create unnecessary trip hazards

Because inflatables are engineered systems.

When one part is not secured properly, the entire unit stops behaving the way it was designed to behave.

We have personally seen:
β€’ Units tip when crowds rushed one side
β€’ Units roll after shutdown because they were not properly secured
β€’ Slides lift during use
β€’ Slide decks collapse unevenly during power loss because support tethers were not installed correctly

These are not random accidents.

They are setup failures.

That is why professional installation matters.

Most customers never think about anchoring because they assume it is just part of the setup.

And honestly, that is exactly how it should be.

The best operators are handling the details customers never knew they needed to worry about.

At Fun & Done, safety is not a checklist item.

It is built into every stage of setup.

Before today, had you ever really looked at how an inflatable was anchored down? πŸ‘‡
