The Gillum House Bed & Breakfast has turn-by-turn routes for wonderful daytrip rides through beautiful West Virginia that are as one motorcyclist said are a great combination of technical AND scenic riding. we also have off-street parking for our motorcycle guests (near the hose & hydrant if your "baby" needs a clean-up).

These photos are from a trike ride I was blessed to take - on just one of my daytrip routes - this one to Blackwater Falls State Park.

To everyone who has stayed at the Gillum House Bed & Breakfast in Shinnston, West Virginia Thank you for the last 30 years and here is hoping for many more years of greeting you.

And I am going to use this post to announce: In honor of our 30-year anniversary on July 3, anyone who books a 2 or more night reservation between now and July 30, will receive a pint jar of the coffee of their choice in celebration.

I was working in my office and happened to look through the screen toward the hill I see every day. The sun was starting to set and it was so beautiful I had to take a photo - it is from where I sit and through the screen. (The leaves are actually green but the sun turned them golden!)

We have a new amenity in Shinnston, West Virginia that is available for our guests.

It is Taste of Fitness, a well-equipped fitness center that is WALKING Distance (3 blocks via the rail-trail) from Gillum House Bed & Breakfast. They are open 7 days a week from 5 AM to 11 PM. Walk-ins are $10.00. Took some photos today for all to see:

Today I harvested my first asparagus of 2026! Good dinner tonight. And in the very near future some guests will have asparagus served with their locally-sourced meat, farm-fresh local eggs, and fresh-roasted, fresh-ground coffee of their country of choice (we apologize that we only have 31 countries of coffee bean to roast for our guests).
