Mental health matters, at work and beyond. 💚 Today, our Hilton Shreveport team took time to talk about mental wellness, checking on each other, and asking for support when we need it.

Thank you to Ryan Williams from Seedlink Behavioral Management for speaking with us and making space for this important conversation. We appreciate your time and all you do for our community!

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Hilton Shreveport is proud to host our Tree of Hope, a special tribute to the fighters, survivors, and loved ones whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.

We invite our guests and visitors to place a pink ribbon on the tree in honor of someone special. Whether you’re celebrating a survivor, remembering someone dear to your heart, supporting someone currently fighting, or honoring your own journey, each ribbon represents a story, a life, and a reminder that no one has to face this journey alone.

Together, we can fill this tree with love, strength, courage, and hope. Because behind every ribbon is a reason to keep fighting and a story worth honoring. 🩷 🎀 🩷

💙 Travel with Purpose Week at Hilton Shreveport! 💙

At Hilton Shreveport, giving back is more than volunteering—it’s about showing up for our neighbors, investing in our future, and making a meaningful difference in the community we call home! 🌟

This week, Team Hilton Shreveport has been out in the community, rolling up our sleeves, lending a helping hand, and putting our purpose into action.

🥫 Serving Seniors at the Food Bank
We kicked off the week by volunteering at the Food Bank, helping distribute more than 300 care packages to seniors ages 60 and older in our community. From registering guests to loading care packages into vehicles, our team helped make the distribution process a little easier and brighter for local seniors. Every interaction was an opportunity to share kindness and remind others that their community cares.

🎒 Supporting Students Through Smile and Shine Kits
Next, our team visited a school with an incredible 103-year history of serving its community! We helped gather and organize items for the Smile and Shine Kits being prepared for all 320 students. These kits are designed to encourage students to prioritize their education, keep striving toward their goals, and believe in their potential. We’re proud to support initiatives that inspire the next generation to dream big and keep reaching for success!

🌱 Getting Our Hands Dirty at Shreveport Green Farm
Tuesday brought sunshine, hard work, and plenty of teamwork at Shreveport Green Farm, where fresh produce is grown and shared to give back to our community. Our team jumped in to help support the farm’s efforts, contributing our time and energy to an initiative that helps connect our community with fresh food. It was hot, it was hard work, and it was a wonderful reminder of what we can accomplish when we work together! 💚

🏫 Making a Difference at Cherokee Elementary School
After our time at the farm, we headed to Cherokee Elementary School to support students, teachers, and staff. Our team helped with recess duty, assisted in the cafeteria, and lent a hand to the school office team. From helping keep the school day running smoothly to supporting students throughout their day, we were happy to step in wherever we were needed. Sometimes, making a difference simply means being there to help!

❤️ Purpose in Action, One Project at a Time
Each project reminded us that community impact comes in many forms, from helping seniors access essential resources to encouraging students, supporting local food initiatives, and assisting the educators who pour so much into our children.

A HUGE THANK YOU to every Hilton Shreveport team member who volunteered, showed up with a positive attitude, and gave their time to these meaningful causes. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve, proud of the difference we’re making together, and blessed to be part of such a wonderful community.

At Hilton Shreveport, we believe in serving with heart, building stronger connections, and making giving back part of who we are. And the best part? We work hard, we serve with heart, and we have FUN along the way! 🙌💙

🎀 16 Years of Strength. 16 Years of Hope. 16 Years of Survival. 🎀

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are honored to celebrate Vanessa Holden, who is marking an incredible 16 years as a breast cancer survivor.

On April 3, 2010, Vanessa received the news that would change her life: she had breast cancer. Just two days later, on April 5, she underwent surgery after doctors discovered an 11 cm tumor. She was home from the hospital the very next day, but her road to recovery was only beginning.

Vanessa spent a year away from work while undergoing 30 days of radiation. During that time, she faced challenges far beyond her diagnosis — including financial hardship and the uncertainty of providing for her two young children, who were just 12 and 16 at the time. She made difficult changes, including quitting smoking and drinking, and found strength in the people who stood beside her.

Her mother was one of her greatest sources of strength. Having faced breast cancer herself, Vanessa’s mom understood the fear and uncertainty of the journey. Her family’s experience also inspired Vanessa’s daughters to prioritize self-awareness and early detection.

Vanessa remembers being scared when she first heard the words “you have cancer.” But today, she looks back with gratitude and pride. “Being a survivor means a whole lot to me — the fact that I was able to get back on my feet for myself and my kids.”

Her message to other women is simple and powerful: don’t put off your mammogram or routine screenings. “It's nothing to play with. Keep strong. I know you're afraid, but keep going and pray to God all will be alright.”

Vanessa’s journey is a beautiful reminder that even in the face of fear, there can be hope. That strength can be found in family, faith, and perseverance. And that early detection matters.

💗 Today, we celebrate Vanessa — her courage, her resilience, her 16 years of survivorship, and the hope she continues to share with others.
