They say if you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.
Whoever said that clearly never renovated a house, (with full time jobs to boot)😂
Because when you love what you’re building, sometimes you work harder than you ever have.
You give up weekends. Trade vacations for renovation projects. You spend your evenings researching, designing, budgeting, learning, dreaming…and your mornings, well you just start all over again.
And in our case, you often bring the whole family along for the ride.
We’ve poured so much of ourselves into these homes over the last 6 years. Not just money or time, but creativity, energy, and a whole lot of heart.
And while I absolutely love the designing and dreaming, I think what fills my cup the most is when someone stays in one of our homes and the thought and care we put into it, is palpable to them.
When a guest notices the little details. When a family makes memories in a space we worked so hard to create. When someone sees beyond the pretty pictures and gets to experience the hospitality we infuse into every aspect.
That’s the part that makes every late night, every missed weekend, and every “what have we gotten ourselves into?” moment worth it.
And now? We’re doing it all over again. 🤪
Our newest project, The Almhaus, is a whole new era for our family. And this time, we want to bring you along for more than just the pretty after pictures.
The mess. The decisions. The DIY projects. The inevitable mistakes. The community and networking. The family teamwork. And hopefully, one pretty incredible transformation.
Because the after is beautiful, but there’s a whole lot of life that happens in the before.
