Today I shared an experience that most would find unexciting.
I was able to work with people that I have known for both a long and a short time.

Today I helped plant 350 christmas trees on our family farm in the the state of New York, which has been operating and growing trees for probably two decades.

Make no mistake, the experience was hard, as it has been every year, but I feel it mattered more.

I haven’t been doing this year in and year out for profit. Who would? There isn’t any. New York has become a break even state, if you are lucky. Last year we planted 500 trees and they all died despite the fact that we paid for them, fertilized them, put w**d killer on them, w**d-wacked and pruned them and mowed around them. It is hard not to loose faith.

I am proud of the people who shared the day of work who have apparently found a visceral connection to the wet soil, the cold, the exhaustion and the beautiful sun that graced us with it’s presence.

Thank you Tony, Mike, Justin. You made an arduous task seem wonderful.
