Brethren,

As we celebrate Labor Day, Freemasons are reminded of one of the core teachings of our Craft: the dignity, purpose, and value of honest labor. From the operative stonemasons who built the great cathedrals of antiquity to the speculative Masons of today, our Fraternity has always honored those who dedicate their hands, minds, and hearts to constructive work.
In Freemasonry, the working tools are not merely instruments of physical building—they are symbols of moral refinement, discipline, and service to humanity. Labor gives us the means to support our families, contribute to our communities, and build a better world for future generations.

Today, we honor all working men and women whose dedication and effort strengthen our nation and enrich our communities. May we always find satisfaction in honest work, relief in well-earned rest, and opportunity in service to others.

At Lodge 45 we are blessed to have a long and deep tradition of Brothers that have answered the call to defend our community and nation. With that, we also have Brothers that have given what Lincoln referred to as 'the last, full measure.' And laid down their lives to offer us the freedoms we enjoy.

To all those Brothers in the Celetrial Lodge know we honor your memories. And to all those man and women lost in uniform we thank you and revere your names and sacrifices.

Brothers and neighbors, I hope everyone has a safe and happy Memorial Day. I hope your BBQ and hamburgers are done without being burnt, and dont forget to have some green beans at the picnic.
