Six months isn’t too late. It might be just enough time.

Planning a wedding on a shorter timeline doesn’t have to mean rushing through the experience or compromising on the day you imagined. With the right place, the right people, and a little guidance, a lot can happen in six months.

At Bear Mountain Inn + Barn, you’re not starting from scratch. Our team handles coordination, we have a trusted catering partner, and years of celebrating here have given us relationships with talented local vendors who know our property and know how to bring a wedding weekend together.

And because your celebration can extend beyond the wedding day, your favorite people can stay close, gather together, and experience a full weekend in Western Maine.

April + May 2027 dates are available, and now is the time to start planning.

If you’ve been dreaming about a spring wedding but assumed you were already too late, you’re not.

Send us a message or inquire through the link in our bio to start planning your 2027 wedding at Bear Mountain. We’d love to show you what six months can become.

Last weekend, Sarah + Daniel gathered their favorite people at Bear Mountain for a celebration filled with bold summer florals, vows overlooking the water, live music in the barn, and so many moments worth holding onto.

The kind of wedding weekend that reminds us just how special it is to watch these stories unfold here, from the first arrival to the last song.
Sarah + Daniel, thank you for letting Bear Mountain be part of yours. 🤍

It’s hard to believe our girls are starting second grade and kindergarten. When we moved to Bear Mountain Inn, they were just 3½ years old and 14 months.

They’ve grown up alongside this place, meeting our guests, watching beautiful brides walk through our doors, and then playing “wedding” in our living room long after the celebrations are over.

That’s what being a family business means to us. Bear Mountain Inn isn’t simply where we work, it’s where our family is growing up. It’s woven into their childhood, just as they’ve become part of the story of this place.

We feel incredibly lucky to raise our girls here, surrounded by celebrations, traditions, and so many people beginning new chapters of their own. 🤍

September in Maine lives somewhere between summer and fall.

The gardens are still full, the landscape is beginning to deepen, and the season brings a palette of dusty pinks, soft mauves, rich burgundy, warm neutrals, and just a hint of what’s to come.

For this month’s Floral Edit, we gathered flowers, foliage, and textures that feel especially at home in a September wedding—from delicate late-summer blooms to the deeper tones that signal the start of a new season.

Inspired by Maine. Made for Bear Mountain. 🤍

Some of the best days in western Maine are spent on the water.

Start right here at Bear Mountain with a paddle across Bear Pond, then venture out for a cruise on Long Lake, a swim at a local beach or tucked-away swimming hole, or an afternoon floating down the Androscoggin.

From quiet mornings on the lake to sunny afternoons on the river, there are plenty of ways to get out on the water and experience this little corner of Maine.

Save this guide for your next visit, and tell us - which one are you adding to your itinerary?

There’s a certain feeling to the last days of August in Maine.

The days are still warm and the sun still lingers over the lake, but by evening, you’re reaching for a sweatshirt. Ice cream runs come with the windows down, nights are spent around the fire a little longer, and you start noticing the sun setting just a little earlier than it did the week before.

Because in Maine, you don’t take summer for granted.

You wait all winter for these days. For bare feet and open windows. For afternoons on the water and dinners outside. For long days that seem to stretch on forever and cool nights under a sky full of stars.

And when August starts winding down, you hold onto every last bit of it.

One more swim. One more sunset. One more night around the fire.

Summer isn’t over yet.

And we’re in no hurry to let it go.

As August comes to a close, we’re holding onto the last little bit of summer while looking ahead to what comes next.

At Bear Mountain, the shift from summer to fall is something special. Lush greens slowly give way to golden leaves, warm lake days turn into crisp evenings, and the same beautiful setting takes on an entirely new feel.

Two seasons, each with a little magic of its own.

As we say goodbye to August, tell us: summer or fall at Bear Mountain?
