Over the coming months, we’re hosting 15 students to gain hands-on experience and insights into their respective fields through a hospitality-focused perspective. They’ll work alongside our corporate Team Members in human resources, cybersecurity, corporate treasury, corporate tax, aviation, IT command center and IT software development. Take a look at what some of our interns had to say after their first day on the job!

Leisy Gonzalez, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Psychology Major – Corporate Human Resources,
“I'm excited to learn new skills, tools and methods that HR professionals use on a daily basis. During orientation, I was surprised to learn about how committed Sands is to increasing sustainability across different areas ranging from the workplace to the environment and local communities.”

Justin Kania, San Diego State University, Finance Major – Corporate Treasury
“What excites me most about this summer internship is the chance to get hands-on experience and see how treasury supports a very successful company like Sands on a day-to-day basis. I'm looking forward to learning from experienced professionals, meeting new people, taking on different challenges and growing my skill set. The biggest surprise during orientation was how welcoming and approachable everyone was. People consistently took the time to introduce themselves and share advice based on their own career experience. It created an environment that felt like one big family and made me genuinely excited to be part of the team.”

Jacob Ladd, Cal Poly Pomona, Computer Science Major – Global Cybersecurity
“I am most looking forward to gaining hands-on experience through real-world situations involving various cybersecurity tools and concepts. What surprised me during my orientation was the friendliness and congeniality of everyone in the office. It was impossible to walk around without coworkers being excited to see me, say hello, or even strike up a conversation.”

Throughout the summer, you’ll be hearing about the experiences of our 2026 summer intern group as we highlight the bright minds of the future and showcase the impact of our commitment to workforce development in our communities.

Earlier this week, we again ushered in the summer season with a special Hawaiian barbeque lunch and an opportunity for our Team Members to learn from several of the community organizations that help make Las Vegas a great place to live, work and visit.
Hosted by Sands Cares and our Team Member resource groups EmpowHER and Sands Pride+, the annual Community Involvement Fair enabled organizations to showcase their missions and educate our Team Members about volunteer opportunities – all part of our culture of service and giving back to our communities.

In our aim to achieve excellence in the People, Communities and Planet pillars of our corporate responsibility program, we surpassed many of the targets set for our 2021-2025 reporting period, including our three primary ambitions and other environmental performance metrics.

People: We invested over $272 million in workforce development, surpassing our goal of $200 million.

Communities: Our Team Members contributed more than 290,000 community service hours, surpassing our 250,000 target.

Planet – Emissions Reduction: We decreased our scope 1 and 2 emissions by 54%, well beyond our science-based 17.5% reduction target and 1.5oC-aligned 30% reduction target.

Planet – Waste: We increased our operational waste diversion rate by 10% during the period, surpassing our 5% target. We also prevented, rescued or diverted 36% of food waste by the end of 2025, performing ahead of our 25% target.

Planet – Water Use: Our water programs yielded an 8% decrease in potable water intensity, performing ahead of our 3% reduction target.

Planet – Plastics and Packaging: We achieved our target of 100% of Sands-branded water bottles being from reusable sources or sustainable materials.

Today, the United Nations calls on the global community to reexamine our relationship with the natural world. One of the ways we are contributing to this mission is through The Drop By Drop Project, a program we co-manage with The WASH Foundation.
Through this initiative, we invest in innovative water and environmental stewardship projects in our Macao and Singapore regions and have supported local champions in advancing water conservation, ecosystem restoration and community engagement programs since 2019.
Our current grant recipient in Macao is the University of Saint Joseph's Institute of Science and Environment, which is focusing on restoring and protecting mangrove habitats in Macao through the Green Shields project. In Singapore, grantee Conservation International Singapore is equipping young people to become champions for water stewardship and biodiversity through its Youth in Nature program. The Drop By Drop Project has been a primary conduit for our support of natural ecosystem protection and conservation education in our regions, and today we put a spotlight on the important work of USJ and Conservation International.
