Grand Chess Tour The official page of the Grand Chess Tour. (London Chess Classic).

The Grand Chess Tour is a circuit of international events, each demonstrating the highest level of organization for the world's best players. The 2016 Tour was created in partnership between the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis (Sinquefield Cup) and Chess Promotions, Ltd. The legendary Garry Kasparov, one of the world's greatest ambassadors for chess, inspired the Grand Chess Tour and helped solidify the partnership between the organizers. His tireless efforts to popularize the game around the world mirror the goals and ambitions of the Grand Chess Tour.

Fabiano Caruana and Wesley So will face off in a playoff tomorrow at 12:00 PM St. Louis time to decide who will be crowned the 2026 U.S. Chess Champion! 🇺🇸♟️

After 8 rounds of US Chess Championship in Saint Louis, Wesley So stands alone at the top with 6/8, holding a full-point lead over Fabiano Caruana (5/8).

🥇 Wesley So - 3-time U.S. Champion, now chasing his fourth national title.
🥈 Fabiano Caruana - 5-time U.S. Champion, aiming for a fifth consecutive crown and sixth title overall.

And now comes the big clash: So and Caruana will face each other in Round 9!

A victory for So would extend his lead to two points with only two rounds left. A win for Caruana would bring the two stars level at the top!

Will Wesley So take a giant step toward his fourth U.S. title, or can Fabiano Caruana turn the championship race around?

Both players have also been major figures on the Grand Chess Tour, making this another exciting chapter in their rivalry in Saint Louis.

Wesley So won Titled Tuesday on September 29, starting 7/7 on his way to a 9.5-point total. That score was enough for an outright victory after the top three boards in the final round ended in draws.
