Ours come with a side of crackling fire and a room to match!

Three of our guest rooms - Nora's Room, The Presidents' Room, and Frederick's Room - have working wood burning fireplaces because adulting is hard, but fires are easy.

Book a room with a fireplace and we'll handle the s'mores... I mean, the rest!

Thanks to all of you who checked in on us after last Friday's tornado.

Though we had high winds here, we had no damage, no loss of power, all trees still have their branches.

We felt very lucky and blessed to have so much support among you!

When getting this room ready to paint, we removed a make shift closet from the corner of the room. We discovered two things . . .

The doors were from the original butler's pantry (now put back in the kitchen) and behind the wallpaper in that corner were two sets of signatures.

The bottom two were dates 5/17/'93 and the top two were dated 8/13/'12. We surmised that when the house was being completed, in 1893, the wallpaper hangers signed off on their work. In 1912, the Lehmann's had the room repapered and those hangers, seeing the first signatures, added their own.

We opted to keep this piece of house history by framing it, the first piece of artwork for the new room.

You can check out the current pictures of the new room by clicking the link in the comment section below.

We're getting our newest room ready. Thanks to our past guests help, in our most recent room naming contest, we have a name:

👉The Map Room

When Lehman lived here, he used this room to house his extensive map collection, as seen in the black and white photo from when he lived here.

Now we're turning it into a guest room.

Today, it got a new coat of paint to make the Frank Lloyd Wright designed fireplace mantle pop when you walk into the room.

When Lehmann lived here, he used the room to house his extensive map collection, as seen in the black and white photo. As of September 1st, it will become a guest room.

Will we get done in time? Stay tuned!
