Brower Park is located on the Muskegon River and provides access to 18 miles of navigable river in the backwaters of the Hardy Dam. The park’s 280 acres boasts 230 campsites, 10 camp-n-cabins and almost 8000 feet of river frontage. Come and visit the park to have a picnic, fish, camp, swim, or water ski.

Join us this weekend as we kick off summer during our 11th Annual Community Open House Event - June 12-14, 2026!

🚗 FREE Vehicle Entry All Weekend Long!
Enjoy free day-use access at all Mecosta County Parks and discover everything our parks have to offer.

🎣 Michigan DNR Free Fishing Weekend
On June 13 & 14, no Michigan fishing license is required! Grab your fishing gear and spend some quality time on the water with family and friends. (All other fishing and boating regulations still apply.)

Whether you're looking to cast a line, go boating or swimming, explore the trails, try out some mountain biking, participate in family activities or just relax and enjoy the outdoors, there's something for everyone at Mecosta County Parks!

Participating parks include: Brower Park, School Section Lake Park, Merrill-Gorrel Park, Paris Park, & Davis Bridge Park
🕗 Day-use hours are 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM daily.

🏕️ Thinking about making it a weekend getaway? Campers will also enjoy waived vehicle entrance fees throughout the event, making it one of the best values of the season! Campsites and cabins are available to reserve online. www.MecostaCountyParks.com

The Boater Safety Class for July 11th at Brower County Park has officially been posted on the Michigan DNR website.
Anyone interested in attending must register online through the DNR website or app. Brower Park does not handle registrations directly.

or if you have the Michigan DNR App, follow these steps to sign up:
1️⃣ Open the App
2️⃣ Select “Regulations Info”
3️⃣ Go to “Events…Hunter Safety”
4️⃣ Choose “Register for a Traditional Hunter Education Course”
5️⃣ Scroll down and find “Boater Safety”
6️⃣ Search Events and Sign Up

Please register early, as class availability may be limited.

If you are no longer planning on attending this class, please cancel your registration so that those on the waiting list will have a chance to attend.

Mark you calendar for the annual Mecosta County Parks Community Open House happening Friday, June 12 through Sunday, June 14 — in conjunction with the Michigan DNR’s Free Fishing Weekend!

🚗 All vehicle entry fees at Mecosta County Parks will be WAIVED during the open house weekend!
🏕️ Camping with us? No vehicle permits will be required during your weekend stay!

The DNR Free Fishing Weekend takes place on the Saturday & Sunday only, giving everyone the perfect opportunity to cast a line and enjoy Michigan’s great outdoors — no fishing license required.
