Something is stirring inside The Great Hall…

On Saturday, July 11, The Blackburn Inn invites you back for another evening of dinner, mystery, and just enough suspicion to make everyone at the table look guilty.

The official story is still under wraps, but that feels fitting, doesn’t it?

For now, consider this your warning: a new murder mystery dinner is coming, and the first clue arrives next week.

Save the date. Watch closely. Trust carefully.

Summer festival season in Staunton is officially here 🎶

From live music and local art festivals to outdoor markets and downtown events, there’s always something happening once the weather warms up.

Spend the afternoon exploring downtown, grab dinner nearby, then head back to The Blackburn for a quieter end to the night.

Small-town summers just hit different.

There’s spa days… and then there’s disappearing-for-three-hours-and-coming-back-feeling-like-a-new-person spa days.

The Spa at The Blackburn has quietly become one of Staunton’s favorite places to slow down. From massages and facials to full self-care afternoons, time starts moving differently the second you walk in.

The best part? You don’t have to be staying overnight to enjoy it.

Book a treatment, wander downtown after, grab lunch nearby, sit on the lawn for a while, and suddenly your random Wednesday feels significantly more cinematic.

That’s the vibe all summer.

Somehow, we’re already halfway through the year, and if there’s one thing we’ve learned so far, it’s that the best moments usually happen in the in-between ones.

A slow coffee in your room before heading downtown.

Golden hour spilling across the front lawn.

Late-night conversations after weddings in The Great Hall.

Spa mornings that turn into entire reset days.

A quiet walk back from Staunton with shopping bags in hand and no real plans except figuring out where dinner is.

The first half of the year at The Blackburn has been filled with celebrations, weekends away, reunions, concerts, brunches, spa appointments, and so many small moments that made this place feel alive.

Here’s to slower mornings, fuller calendars, and finding more reasons to stay a little longer this summer. ✨

The Blackburn was basically made for slow reading days. Between the porches, lawns, peaceful corners throughout the property, and cozy guest rooms, there’s no shortage of spots to disappear for a few chapters.

Bonus points if your “quick reading break” accidentally turns into an entire afternoon.

There’s a very specific kind of quiet that exists at The Blackburn in the early morning.

The fog hangs low over the hills, the grounds are still empty, and downtown Staunton hasn’t fully woken up yet. It’s the kind of morning that makes you want to grab a coffee and stay outside a little longer than you planned.

Not every trip needs a packed itinerary. Sometimes the slower moments end up being the best part.

As the day winds down, Staunton shifts with it.

The streets quiet, the pace softens, and there’s no real rush to move on to what’s next.

And just beyond downtown, The Blackburn is there—steady, quiet, and ready for you to return to.

It’s historic, but the rooms feel open and comfortable.

The grounds stretch out, but everything still feels easy to navigate.

Downtown Staunton is right there—but coming back here feels like stepping into something quieter.

There’s a balance between being connected and completely removed that’s hard to find elsewhere.

You’ll tell yourself you’re just stopping in.

Then you walk into The Book Dragon Shop and lose track of time somewhere between the shelves.

Or sit down at Crucible Coffee Roasters thinking it’s a quick break—and stay a while longer than expected.

Even a stop at Sunspots Studios Glassblowing turns into something you want to watch from start to finish.

You don’t plan for it, and that’s kind of the best part.
