Meet Barrow’s Bend, a brand new trail at Steamboat this winter.

The trail honors the late Jim “Moose” Barrows, a U.S. Ski Team member and Olympian raised in Steamboat. After retiring from racing, Moose spent decades championing the sport right here at home, including starting a scholarship fund to help local junior skiers get the training they needed.

As a Steamboat Athlete for most of the resort’s history, Moose was a fixture on the mountain. You could find him walking the base, skiing the hill or sharing his big laugh with guests, staff and the community, and he never missed a chance to join a mountain event and share his passion for skiing and the outdoors.

Barrow’s Bend gives beginners a new way to connect from Rendezvous to the South Peak and Sunshine Express lifts. Come take a lap this season!

Last week’s storm didn’t slow us down. Our on-mountain teams have been busy getting lifts ready for winter, repairing trail signs, and prepping snow guns for the season ahead.
