Steinhatchee is located 90 minutes southeast of Tallahassee and 90 minutes northwest of Gainesville. We are a small crabbing and fishing town with a population of less than 1,000 people. As scallop season comes to a close, our fall fishing starts up! Yesterday started our Fall Season for Red Snapper, along with some other tasty fish! We will be spotlighting the season and regulations for different varieties over the next few weeks! You can find more information on seasons by following MyFWC Florida Fish and Wildlife !
