It’s time to recognize the local businesses that helped us bring the Strasburg General Store in to its next era! When we began dreaming about reviving the space, we were full of ideas…and a bit overwhelmed. However, Jessica Stoppard of helped us translate our vision in to reality (and gave us a crash course in retail and marketing). As with the creamery, her partnership helped us to breathe new life, beauty, and inspiration into our historic shop with a design that is both classic and current.
A fresh coat of paint by laid the foundation for the transformation. After installing in the creamery, we were hooked, so we jumped on the opportunity to use their hand-pieced, historically-inspired designs throughout the general store as well. Aimee Weaver of created our signage, including the beautiful, hand-painted piece that hangs behind our antique checkout counter. sewed the ticking-striped curtains and cushions that appear through the shop and bring a tailored charm to the space. Darrell Burkholder (Cornerstone Structures) carried the project, tirelessly installing all of the above (and more!).
And *spoiler alert* we’re working with Glen Long to bring the bees back to the creamery! He will be setting up an observational hive in the general store this summer and helping us to maintain a happy habitat for these special pollinators.
If you haven’t stopped by the Strasburg General Store at yet, we invite you to do so soon!
