Scenes from Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster this Fall Foliage Friday! 🍁🎃

Halloween decorations are up, and the coaster has done a fantastic job getting the place ready for the weekend. Riders are getting a little extra Halloween fun as they wind through the trees!

Fall color is still hanging on at lower elevations, making this a great weekend to get outside and enjoy it. It’s been one of those fall seasons that just keeps going!

Last night’s visit to Linville Falls! 🍂😍 These views are from the Erwins View Trail, which takes you to three overlooks of the 90-foot waterfall and surrounding Linville Gorge. Just about 15 miles from Sugar Mountain.

This is shaping up to be one of the longest-lasting fall color seasons we can remember! And with plenty of color still showing at lower elevations, this weekend is looking like another great one for a fall getaway.

With every day that passes, we’re appreciating the fall color a little more. It’s been a particularly gorgeous fall so far, and it seems like it’s just getting better! Color is still popping around 4,300 ft and below, with more to enjoy as we head into late October and November.

Weekdays are a little quieter around here, so if you can sneak away, come up and soak it all in with us while it lasts!

Happy Fall Foliage Friday! 🍁🍂 Fall color is making its way down the mountain! Up at Sugar’s summit (5,300 ft), most of the leaves have fallen, but down around the base (4,100 ft), the trees are still looking bright and beautiful!

It’s looking like it’s going to be a perfect weekend to be outside! ☀️

Wellll, the worm has spoken!! 🐛❄️

This past weekend’s Woolly Worm Festival in nearby Banner Elk welcomed over 20,000 visitors and a woolly amount of fun!

Winning worm WALLY has delivered his winter forecast: a cold, snowy start, average temperatures through much of winter, and another cold snap to finish things off. 👀 Not bad for skii temps ❄️

🍁 There’s still plenty of color to enjoy at lower elevations, even as the leaves begin to fall up high.

What a beautiful peak fall weekend in the High Country!
