Whistle Stop RV Park & Powder River Event Center

The Park is Closed for the Season.
We had a terrific year with all of you campers and Visitors!
We also had 4 major forest fires in the area, but we were able to hold all 4 events in the park event area. In fact in July after the Powder River Pitmasters Comp. Ronnie & Mari Johnson & Dale & Kime Zirbel of Freedom Works BBQ and others fed over 70 firefighters with leftovers! I told 2 firemen to get people down there and they kept rolling in til about 9 pm!
Labor Day was another squeaker, but we made it thru with the fires, helped the Granite mountain FD with a burger fund raiser, visited Freemont Powerhouse and toured the Red Boy Mine!
We are closed but Rebecca & I continue to work on the park until winter gets here, or I get too cold lol and we are already looking forward to next year! The Star Gazing Suite will be open in 2027, our 4 events are scheduled, and more campsites are being made!
Now that this year has come to an end... I'm already thinking about PNW Trail-Fest '27!!!

Parkotberfest! is a wrap!
I honestly think our event tripled in size of BBQ Teams, Vendors, and spectators! It was a beautiful day that started about 5:30 am.
Claim Jumpers Cook Off was IBA's final cook of the season &
We were honored that Jared Pullman IBA Founder, disclosed the year end overall scores at our event! here are the scores for the event and enjoy the pics!
We also did our first, and I think IBA's first Kids Q BBQ contest Sponsored by the Baker County Cattlemens Association.
We had three entry's and I'm quite Certain that will grow 🙂

Rebecca & I will be closing the park Nov. 1 and work on some additions until the snow flies.
Next event at Whistle Stop is PNW Trail-Fest Memorial Day Weekend and then a few weeks later in June will be Powder River Pitmasters!!! so keep an eye on this page for future fun events. :)
