📣 CALL TO ACTION FOR SWAINSBORO BUSINESS OWNERS
March 2nd – 6:00 PM
Swainsboro City Council Meeting
Fellow Swainsboro business owners,
A commercial cryptocurrency mining facility is currently operating inside our city limits on a parcel classified as Public Utility land.
We have confirmed through City Hall that this private operator is not currently paying city occupational taxes and does not hold a city business license.
As local businesses, we:
• Pay occupational taxes
• Maintain business licenses
• Comply with zoning and city code
• Contribute directly to our local tax base
We are not targeting a specific company.
We are asking for transparency and equal enforcement.
Under Georgia law, leaseholds and commercial operations may be taxable depending on classification. If there is a lawful exemption in place, we respectfully request that it be disclosed. If there is not, we request equal application of city regulations.
This is about fairness and accountability not politics.
If you believe in equal treatment for all businesses operating within city limits, please join us:
