Happy 23rd Birthday, FarmLinks Golf Club! 🎉

On June 4, 2003, FarmLinks officially opened its fairways to the golf industry world. Among those in attendance were Governor Bob Riley, Jim Nabors (better known as Gomer Pyle), the Pursell Girls, and many of the turfgrass and nursery industry's leading professionals.

What began as the world's first and only research and demonstration golf course quickly became something much more.

Designed with 28 different varieties of turfgrass, FarmLinks was created as a living laboratory for POLYON®, the revolutionary controlled-release fertilizer developed by PTI (Pursell Technologies Inc.). Superintendents from across the country were flown to Alabama to experience firsthand how the technology performed on the grasses they managed every day. For three years, "The FarmLinks Experience" became one of the most innovative programs in the golf industry attracting over 10,000 golf course superintendent and ornamental nursery growers.

When the Pursell family sold the fertilizer technology in 2006, FarmLinks entered a new chapter—evolving from a proving ground into a destination. Today, it stands as the crown jewel of Pursell Farms, has been ranked Alabama's #1 public golf course since 2013 in GOLFWEEK, and has welcomed golfers from around the world.

More recently, FarmLinks has earned another distinction: the birthplace of YouTube® Golf, where some of the game's most influential content creators have introduced millions of viewers to the beauty of The Farm.

From research course to championship destination, FarmLinks has always been about innovation, hospitality, and a love for the game.
