The Mary Geasland Guesthouse

The Mary Geasland Guesthouse PERMANENTLY CLOSED Looking for a down-to-earth type of bed and breakfast? The Mary Geasland GUEST HOUSE/B&B offers just that kind of stay.

Guests are not in the family home, but they are in the detached former orchid greenhouse, now the Glasshouse, or they stay in what was once an upstairs garage apartment now called The Apartment. Mary moved to Tahlequah at age 3. After graduating with a college degree in Home Economics, she married and moved away but returned to her family home in the mid 1960s. Mary and her husband, Dr. Bill Geasl

and, raised their three children on West Morgan Street. The late Bill Geasland was a longtime dentist in Tahlequah. Mary has found her calling as hostess and owner of The Mary Geasland GUEST HOUSE/B&B. She opened Tahlequah, Oklahoma's first licensed bed and breakfast in 1991. She was closed for a while, then remodeled and re-opened on April 18, 2007. In the first four years after reopening, guests came from 26 different countries and 36 different states plus Washington, D.C. Mary believes that personal attention is one of the big differences between a bed and breakfast and a hotel or motel. For example, Mary asks, "Have you hugged a doorman lately?"

What can I say? This place is busy. On Sunday, repeat guests confirmed their Thanksgiving reservations, Monday my Arizona guests made Christmas reservations as they were cheking out, and now, here it is Tuesay and I have failed to capture three reservations reqest for Oct and Nov because I was already booked. Sorry Arkansas. Sorry California. Sorry Tahlequah.

There is never a concise answer for the callers who want to know how far in advance they need to make reservations. The Apartment or Glasshouse could be available that night, then again some reservations are made MORE THAN A YEAR IN ADVANCE. See what I mean?

Come for a visit. We are comfortable all year, rates are the same all year, and we remained open all year. Vacation? What's that? Yes, I will admit that I did get away (to Itay and Greece) this September and October. Marsha and Herkie Crosslin make sure the Reservation Calendar stays open and that guests are well taken care of.

Have a question about The Mary Geasland GUEST HOUSE/B&B accomodations? Ask. I surely have the answer.

Hope to see you soon, Mary Geasland

PS. I do keep a Wait List, just in case it is important for you to be called, IF we have a cancellation.
