One of North Lake Tahoe's most spectacular annual displays is the lupine bloom! 💜
Each year, thousands of lupine flowers blanket sections of the shoreline, creating incredible photo opportunities. The size of the bloom often depends on lake levels. Some of the most dramatic displays occur when Lake Tahoe is below its natural rim, and this year the lake is currently sitting just a few feet above that mark.
No matter what, we're expecting beautiful pockets of lupine to emerge along the shore. Just how extensive the bloom will be remains to be seen.
Grab your camera, lace up your walking shoes, and bring a little patience. The perfect shot may require some waiting, but it's always worth it. 📸✨

🚴‍♀️ One of our favorite activities in North Lake Tahoe is renting a bike and hitting the trail!

From Granlibakken, you can hop right onto the region's paved multi-use trail network and choose your own adventure. Head toward Palisades Tahoe along the scenic Truckee River Trail, where you'll ride beside the river, enjoy beautiful mountain views, and find plenty of spots to stop for a refreshing swim. Or cruise down the West Shore Trail, following the shoreline of Lake Tahoe with endless opportunities to dip your toes or your whole body into the crystal-clear water.

The best part? There really isn't a wrong direction. Whether you're looking for a leisurely family ride, a scenic workout, or a full day of exploring, the trails around Tahoe City offer something for everyone. The North Lake Tahoe trail system connects miles of paved pathways along the lake and river, making it easy to enjoy the outdoors without ever getting in the car.

🥾 Happy National Trails Day! 🌲
One of the best parts about staying at Granlibakken Tahoe Resort is that adventure begins right outside your door.
Step onto the Rawhide Trail, located just beyond the tennis courts, and you'll find yourself winding through beautiful Tahoe forest on your way to the Paige Meadows Loop. This moderately challenging trail is a local favorite for hiking, trail running, mountain biking, and in winter, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
This time of year, Paige Meadows comes alive with colorful wildflowers, open meadows, and stunning mountain views. The trail network offers several loop options, making it easy to choose an adventure that fits your pace.
To reach the trailhead from Granlibakken, simply walk behind the tennis courts and follow the Rawhide Trail into the forest. From there, you'll connect directly to the Paige Meadows trail system and miles of scenic Tahoe backcountry.

🚤 Looking to launch your boat on Lake Tahoe this summer? We've got the details you need! ☀️🌊
North Lake Tahoe boat launch locations:
📍 Tahoe City Marina
📍 Lake Forest Boat Ramp
📍 Tahoe Vista Recreation Center
📍 Obexer's Boat Company
📍 Homewood Marina
Before you hit the water, you'll need to complete a boat inspection.
⏰ Plan ahead! Inspections can take some time, especially during busy summer weekends.
🚤 Motorized boats can be inspected at:

🗓 Open daily through September 8
🕣 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
⚠️ If your boat has been in other lakes, rivers, or reservoirs, it may need to go through the decontamination process before launching in Tahoe.
