Business travel has changed and hotels can do more to adapt

NASHVILLE, Tennessee — Business travel has long been an essential part of hotels' demand mix, but the segment has yet to return in full force from the pandemic.

The business travel segment is active and growing, but the current environment makes it a challenge for hotel revenue managers to form strategies.

U.S. hotel results for week ending Aug. 29

The U.S. hotel industry reported a 20th consecutive week of positive year-over-year comparisons, according to CoStar data through Aug. 29.

August 23-29 (percentage change from comparable week in 2025):

Occupancy: 64.1% (+1.1%)
ADR: $157.14 (+0.6%)
RevPAR: $100.69 (+1.7%)
