Gopher Snake Sighting at Manor Lake

Spotted this beautiful gopher snake while hiking around Manor Lake in SoCal! At first, I thought it was a rattlesnake—head flattened, tail shaking—but turns out it was just putting on a show.

Gopher snakes are non-venomous and super helpful for keeping rodent populations in check. Just another cool reminder of the wildlife we share the trail with!
