We’ve been quiet on social media, but hard at work at JH building more porches. And more porches = more chairs!

Beautiful east side porch with a courtyard and oscillating fan. So much more configurable outdoor space.

Very, very busy day today in the bird world, finally. This is day 4, apparently that’s how long it takes for most of them to find you.

Saw a gnatcatcher, several cactus wren, white winged doves, curved bill thrashers, pyrrhuloxia, black throated sparrows, house finches, hummers, and a new surprise visitor - the ladder backed woodpecker. Bad news for you, mr woodpecker - not much wood to peck on out here.

Notably missing are our scaled quail. Procuring some millet to remedy this.

Finished fencing the east yard in June, and got the last gate installed this trip. Still need to add some panache but looks pretty sharp as is.

This was a fun project. I found a photo of a gate I liked and recreated it with a few changes. Built the gate in Austin a few weeks ago and hauled it out to JH for the final finishes. Handmade handles to boot!
